Higginsons get Gold at Q Guild Awards 2010

At the annual Q Guild Smithfield Awards held recently at Butchers Hall, London, we were very pleased to win a number of top prizes for our products.

The awards are among the most highly coveted in the meat industry and a true indication of quality. More than 500 entries were recieved from Q members this year, and all entries were externally assessed by an independant panel of experts.

We were delighted to recieve five Gold, two Silver and one Bronze award for  our entries. The products awarded a Gold included our 'Chuckling', Beetroot-cured Back Bacon, 'Pintarde Farcè', Country Woodland Sausage and our Free Range Rare Breed Sausage with Wild Garlic.

The awards were presented to Stuart Higginsons at a special lunch and awards ceremony on November 9th at Butchers Hall, London by TV Chef and restauranteur Heston Blumenthal.

He said: "We are absolutely delighted to recieve these awards. It is fantastic for our business as the Smithfield Awards are envied throughout the trade, adding value and prestige to any product fortunate enough to win. As a Q member we regard oursleves as amongst the best butchers in Britain and this proves we have the products to match".
