Our Story.

Higginsons Butchers of Grange Over Sands began over 25 years ago when Stuart and Pauline Higginson set up a small, high street shop that brought the art of butchery to a handful of customers.  Since then Higginsons has expanded to include a bespoke Delicatessen and Take Out, and has recently launched Higginsons Online Butchers website ordering service and home delivery.

At Higginsons, we are creative in our approach, yet we have a simple ethos - to bring the highest quality food and meat to our customers with care and commitment.  To that end, we strive to source the best meat from the farms on our doorstep and fuse traditional pratice with modern tastes.  We are proud to produce our Gold Award Winning Cumberland Sausage, Award Winning Home-cured Bacon and Rare Breed Pork from our base in Grange Over Sands.  We also supply local Cumbrian specialities such as seasonal Morecambe Bay Saltmarsh Lamb, local Game and Seasonal Copas Bronze Turkeys.

stuartandpauline.jpgOver the years, our innovative products have earned us national and international acclaim and our greatest achievement came when we were named Britain's Best Butchers.  A wealth of experience lies amongst our team of skilled butchers and bakers, who will cater for your every need with passion and enthusiasm. 

Alongside our butchery, we also have a bespoke deli where you will find hundreds of handmade pies, cooked fresh everyday by our bakers, and just around the corner from our main shop you can uncover a range of delicious homemade meals in our Take-out.
