Higginsons are crowned Regional Champions

Higginsons were crowned 'Champions' of the NorthWest at the BPEX Regional Roadshow held at the Reebok Stadium on Wednesday 25th September. We entered a selection of products including the well loved "Pork, Stilton & Asparagus Sausage", a speciality "Pork, Apple & Sage Pinwheel", Stuart's favourite "Pork Liver & Bacon Stir-Fry" and Pauline Higginsons' special "Pork, Egg & Bacon Picnic Pie". None of the products came away with less than a Silver Award: a testiment to the quality we hope! But the Picnic Pie was a particular hit with the judges, winning a Gold Prize to top the Speciality Cold Eating Pork Pie Category. Stuart didnt take all the credit however saying "My wife Pauline is responsible for the team making pies and we're proud to say they are made with care from scratch, using our own gravy, sauces and pastry, and of course with local free range meats from our butchery. We've become so well known for our Pies over the years that we're now called upon to make special celebratory Pies and Wedding Pies!"
